Acceptance Testing

Acceptance testing allows customers to verify that their system is operational and has been built according to specifications.  Customers can participate in acceptance testing and gain a deeper insight into the functionality of the equipment.  Testing is carried out according to standard product specific protocols at either the Vaisala factory or the customer's site.

♦ FACTORY ACCEPTANCE TEST

The purpose of the FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) is to inspect the system at the Vaisala factory according to predefined FAT protocols.  During the FAT, the hardware and software of the observation system is thoroughly inspected at the Vaisala factory according to a checklist of performance parameters.  The FAT is performed together with the customer.

♦ SITE ACCEPTANCE TEST

The purpose of the SAT (Site Acceptance Test) is to inspect the system at the customer's site to ensure smooth a startup and to ensure that the equipment meets its performance requirements. The SAT is carried out together with the customer, and may also be replaced with a less formal installation inspection.
